BOSTON/SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — After sharing nearly identical bunny logos for over a decade, Tracksmith and rabbit announced a partnership to adopt the same tortoise logo to differentiate themselves from one another.
The companies reportedly agreed to share the logo after reading about the tortoise’s unlikely race win over the hare in Aesop’s fable, deeming the reptile the superior representation of both brands’ “underdog mentality.”
The companies issued a joint statement on the symbolic news.
“Slow and steady wins the race. We firmly believe there’s no better metaphor for the way we approach business. It’s been that same perseverance and determination embodied by the fable’s victor that has fueled our collective success over the past decade. This brand synergy allows both entities to finally distinguish each other while becoming more easily identifiable to our core consumers. Yet another win for the tortoise.”
At press time, multiple sources confirmed Tracksmith and rabbit were strongly considering swapping names.
