New Balance Fresh Foam X More v6 Review

New Balance Fresh Foam X More v6 Review: Less is More?

It’s been a few years since I last ran in New Balance’s softest and most cushioned pair. The shoe has always played second fiddle to its older, less chubby sibling, the Fresh Foam X 1080. And New Balance loves to play favorites: there’s a reason the “Run your way” company — not to be confused with Burger King’s “Have it your way”— says if they made only one shoe, it’d be the 1080. Ouch, that’s got to deflate the gigantic stack height of the More a little, right? Find out if the shoe deserves more of the spotlight.

Diadora Nucleo 2 review

Diadora Nucleo 2 Review: Simply Diadorable!

I didn’t know what to expect with my first running shoe from Diadora — an Italian brand I only had a connection to from childhood AYSO soccer. I faintly recall rocking a pair of Diadora cleats at some point during my tumultuous soccer tenure marked by a debilitating fear of the ball. Can still hear my coach scream at me: “Be more aggressive!” But that was decades ago. Now, running is front and center, and there’s no round object to be afraid of.

ASICS Sonicblast review

ASICS Sonicblast Review: A Sonic BOOM

ASICS introduced its Sonicblast and Megablast in tandem, as the latest additions to its BLAST SERIES, also known as “Bounce” shoes. ASICS says the shoes are for runners who want more spring in their step. Nice try, ASICS. That describes literally every runner, and no shoe is for everyone — despite what running stores will have you believe about the Brooks Ghost.

Brooks Ghost Max 3 review

Brooks Ghost Max 3 Review: Greater Than the Sum of its Parts

After reviewing a lackluster 2nd edition of the Ghost Max, my expectations for the third version were as low as the approval rating of the U.S. President (he who shall not be named). And then when I learned the 3rd version wasn’t getting any notable updates and was adding weight—again—my expectations sank even lower than the droopy, oversized tie of “he who shall not be named.” But find out why three was the lucky number this time, in this Brooks Ghost Max 3 review.

Mizuno Wave Rider 29 review

Mizuno Wave Rider 29 Review: “An Awesome Wave”

Let’s not bury the lede: the Wave Rider 29 has a plate! Before you cream your jeans, it’s not a real plate. The MIZUNO WAVE plate is made of PEBAX RNEW, a “plant-based high-performance TPU.” Told you it wasn’t the real deal. Don’t expect this plate to provide the same experience of carbon fiber or nylon plates. It doesn’t. And that’s not its purpose. The plate helps provide a more stable platform and extra cushioning. Yawn.

New Balance Fresh Foam X Balos review

New Balance Fresh Foam X Balos Review: A Bunch of Baloney

The Balos has accomplished quite the feat: it’s the first running shoe you can simultaneously pronate and supinate in! I didn’t think that was conceivable, but as New Balance says: “Impossible is nothing.” Wait, I think that’s Nike’s tagline. I’m exaggerating, of course, but if you’re not a neutral runner, do not try this shoe. Hell, even if you are a neutral runner, this shoe may not work for you. It’s one of the least stable shoes I’ve run in…ever.
